Once you’ve battled with the booking website and grabbed music festival tickets, you can start the serious business of working out what you’ll take with you. There’s more to festival prep than buying a floral headband or a pair of wellies. So you can dash from stage to stage with only the clashes to worry about, here’s minicabit’s ‘music festival essentials’ packing list.
Super dry and fully loaded
Pop your muddy wellies on them, stash away yesterday’s stinky clothes, sit on them while you eat your lunch – you can cram a lot of bin bags in even a small rucksack and you’ll be pleased you did.
Your swipeable gadgets
Before you pile all your devices into your bag, stop to check if you really need all of them. How will you protect them from rain or theft? As long as you can keep in touch with your besties and grab the odd photo, anything else is just a bit of a risk.
Cleaner than Clean Bandit
Yes, using some of the precious space in your bag for a loo roll or two is worth it. Pack wet wipes and hand sanitizer to beat the bugs and keep you comfortable.
A clash finder
Leave it as late as you possibly can to screen shot or download the latest clash finder for the event onto your phone or better still print it!
When coffee simply isn’t enough – a first aid kit for those morning-afters!
Don’t let a headache or sore throat ruin the party. Keep going – pack some feel-better basics like paracetamol, ibuprofen or cough sweets.
Your festival tent and bedding
Make sure your shelter for the night is built for UK festival weather. Will it keep the rain out and stand up to the wind? Practise putting up your tent and seeing if you can all fit in it! Rollmats can create a lovely soft layer between you and lumpy cold ground. Take a proper pillow and a decent sleeping bag.
Plastic bottles to refill with water
Save on expensive bottles of pop, fill up your own bottles – there are usually plenty of water stations around festival sites to keep everyone hydrated.
Whether it’s the loos or your tent you’re hunting for during the night, carry a torch (and batteries) with you. Have fun thinking up ways to make your tent individual and spottable!
A camping stove and simple snacks or drinks
So you can grab a quick and cheap bite in the morning, or before bed, pack some instant pasta snacks, tinned foods and anything that won’t need a fridge or much cooking.
Travel in style without blowing your budget
Travel together. Up to 8 passengers can travel in many of our cars. You can warn us about your festival luggage by selecting the ‘camping gear’ luggage option so the minicabit booking site can identify the right size car for your trip. Save your valuable beer money – check out our great cab rates from all across the UK directly to & from festivals.
