Top 5 UK Attractions This Half Term

The UK has some fantastic attractions all across the land hosting great events all year round. This month is no exception and with Halloween and half term falling in the same week, you know there’s going to be some fantastic events on.

Tower of London

Head to the Tower Of London to catch the commemoration the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Agincourt and explore the legacy and myths of this incredible battle of the Hundred Years War. There will be a detailed scale model of the battle alongside rare and iconic objects bought together for the first time. From 24th October to the 1st November, the event will also host talks, demonstrations and activities for the whole family. Included in Tower admission, prices for adults start from £23.10.

Stonehenge

Visit Stonehenge in October half term and take part in their Sale of the Century event, running from the 26th Oct – 1st Nov. This fantastic event will take you back 100 years, when a man named Cecil Chubb walked into a property auction and came out the owner of Stonehenge. That’s right, in 1915 Stonehenge was auctioned off for just £6,600! Take part in the bidding with the whole family in this interactive theatrical performance.

Longleat House

Head to Longleat for a whole range of spooky festivities, including the popular Spooky Ghost Tour of Longleat House, a chilling tour that’ll have you clinging to your family the whole way round! There’s plenty of other free activities on offer, from a skeleton maze to spooky face painting. Finish the week off with an incredible fireworks display above the house, set to a corker of a soundtrack!

Blackpool Tower

Whilst the Blackpool Illuminations are always spectacular to see, the town and the tower also offers a great range of family friendly things to do this half term, like their Halloween Family Party, complete with a UV Light Show, magicians and plenty of surprises! If you feel like something a little less spooky, don’t miss The Blackpool Tower Annual October Ballet. The talented young dancers of Langley Dance Centre will be providing the entertainment with free ballet performances from 3PM on selected dates.

Madame Tussauds

Madame Tussauds and The London Dungeon are fun whatever time of year, but there seems to always be something new to see! This year, the brand new Star Wars exhibit opened, where you can step into the Millennium Falcon and get up close and personal with Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader. The London Dungeon is renowned for it’s terrifying attractions so of course they take Halloween pretty seriously. This year, they’re hosting Séance, an immersive experience harking back to the 1800’s. Do you dare to sit through this supernatural encounter? What will you see, hear…and feel?
