With summer officially here, it’s time to kick back and enjoy the great outdoors – not forgetting your umbrella, sun cream and maybe a pair of wellies just so you are prepared for the great British summertime! But whatever the weather may bring this July, there are some great sporting events, festivals and days out up and down the UK for you to enjoy.

 

Euro 2016 Final – Sunday 10 July

If you’ve enjoyed a summer of football watching the Euro 2016 matches, then don’t forget to tune in to the final on 10 July. If you’re planning a night out to watch the final then pre-book your taxi ahead of time and you can really enjoy the spirit of the game!

If football is not your game, you can also catch the final at Wimbledon on the 10 July and celebrate with some strawberries and cream, a real summer treat.

 

Sunderland International Airshow – 22- 24 July

Seaburn and Roker, Sunderland

Why not head to the beach for Europe’s largest free airshow as Sunderland plays host to dazzling aerial aerobatics, death defying wing walkers, classic aircraft, live music, fireworks and traditional seaside fun.

The fun starts on Friday night at Cliffe Park with live music, followed by two days of flying displays, fairground fun, flight simulators, ride-on model trains and helicopter flights all on offer and topped off with a firework extravaganza.

It’s eyes to the skies with the main flying displays and ground entertainment on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 July from 10am to 6pm.

 

America’s Cup World Series – 21-24 July

Portsmouth, Hampshire

The Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series returns to Portsmouth this year and is set to be even more incredible. The Solent will be buzzing with music and entertainment, while sailing fans watch and the seafront comes alive when the races begin.

Add to this some action in the skies as well as on the sea, with the RAF Red Arrows displaying their aerobatic skills on Friday 22 July, filling the sky with plumes of red, white and blue smoke, and it’s going to be an impressive few days.

 

Standon Calling – 29-31 July

Standon, Hertfordshire

The festival season continues with Standon Calling, where for three days you can party to some of the biggest music acts and enjoy the on-site pool, nightclub and bars. All set in the grounds of Standon Lordship this unique festival offers party goers the chance to see Ghostpoet, The Hives, Kelis, Jess Glynne and Suede.

If you’re up for partying all night, lounging by the pool and dancing the summer days away, then you’ll enjoy Standon Calling. Getting to and from any festival is so much easier when you book a cab using minicabit.

 

Scarborough Seafest – 29-31 July

Scarborough, North Yorkshire

For a festival with a slightly different theme then take a trip to the seaside mecca of Scarborough on the Yorkshire coast and enjoy the 18th Annual Scarborough Seafest Maritime Festival. Promising great fun for all the family with live music, free cooking demonstrations from top chefs and entertainment for everyone.

You can sample the mouth watering food stalls or browse the craft and market stalls, not forgetting the grand fireworks display.
